Indian Painter MF Husain Dead at 95, Artist MF Hussain Died in London, Thursday

One of the famous painters in the world, Maqbool Fida Hussain, fondly known as M.F. Hussain, passed away in a London hospital on Thursday. He was 95 and died from a heart attack. According to news reports, he passed away at London's Royal Brompton hospital. Husain had been suffering from age-related ailments for some time and suffered a heart attack in the hospital, the sources said. Husain was born in Pandharpur, Madhya Pradesh and career began in the mid-1940s. His paintings regularly fetched over $1 million at auctions around the world. He had been awarded the Padma Bhushan in 1973 & Padma Vibhushanin in 1991. He produced and directed Gaja Gamini with his muse Madhuri Dixit. Madhuri was the subject of a series of his paintings.
